The mission of the Lone Star Self-Defense Academy is to provide high-quality, affordable self-defense education to the women, children and men of the State of Texas. We accomplish this by teaching the Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.) system, the national standard in self-defense education since 1989.

• 92% of sexual assault victims know their attackers.
• 88% of convicted rapists had no idea they had committed a crime.
• Only 1 in 10 sexual assaults are ever reported to the police.

Studies have shown that women who have self-defense training increase their chances of successfully surviving a sexual assault by as much as 90%. Women who employ more than one defense technique in the course of escaping a violent encounter raise their chances even higher.
